Eighth grade cohorts began this week, and we are amazed with the enthusiasm and focus we have seen thus far from these groups!

We need adult mentors to work with these groups when we meet once a month. Are you interested and willing? We set aside one day per month for these groups to meet, and this year that will be on one Friday per month from 10:25am-12:30pm. Below are the dates we’ve selected:

  • November 18
  • December 2
  • January 13
  • February 10
  • March 10
  • April 7
  • May: Presentations and reflection, date TBD

The cohorts chose the following this year:

  • Anti-bullying/community building
  • Animals
  • Health (physical and mental)
  • Human trafficking
  • Deforestation
  • Climate change (Jan Zuckerman is adult mentor for this group.)
  • Technology
  • Arts
  • Child welfare
  • Refugees/war/human rights (This cohort has a mentor.)
  • Hunger/homelessness/housing
  • Criminal justice
