K-5 back-to-school night [September 16]
Back-to-school nights are an important time for parents to learn about anything new happening at school this year, to connect with their children’s teachers and to learn how to support their children and their children’s classrooms throughout the year. Please note that this is an adults only event. While we understand the difficulty securing childcare poses to some, we ask that you not bring your children for two reasons: 1) We get great attendance at our back-to-school-nights, and there is not enough room in classrooms for both students and parents; and 2) We sometimes discuss storyline plans that teachers want to reveal over time to students, as they move through the curriculum.
Middle school and elementary school back-to-school nights are a week apart this year. The MS night is Tuesday, September 8 at 6:30pm, and the ES night is Wednesday, September 16 at 6:30pm. Please make the time to attend. Both nights will begin in the auditorium with a welcome from Principal Amy, during which she will share her goals for the year and any curriculum or policy changes. Then parents will continue to their children’s classrooms to meet teachers and learn what to expect this year.
If you absolutely cannot make it, please email your children’s teachers, to be sure they have your contact information for important classroom communications.
