Recycle your holiday tree and help Sunnyside!
Saturday, Jan. 4 and Sunday, Jan. 5 from 10:00am to 4:00pm
Here’s a winning combination — support our neighborhood school and recycle your Christmas (holiday) tree in a responsible way.
Sunnyside Environmental School (SES) is proud to lead this annual event, supporting our mission to build tomorrow’s community of environmentally active citizens.
All donations support the school’s Go FUND, which ensures that all students, regardless of financial resources, are able to fully participate in our curriculum-based overnight field trips.
How to participate? We make it easy!
- Drop your tree at the school and enjoy a free coffee or hot cocoa
- Or, complete the form below, and our volunteer drivers will collect trees right from at your house or apartment building.
All trees get mulched into chips for the school gardens and also donated to local farms and PDX community gardens!
To drop off your tree, bring it to Sunnyside Environmental School at 3421 SE Salmon St, Portland (enter the playground on 34th and Taylor) on January 4th or 5th between 10a and 4pm. Minimum donation is $5 and our middle school students will unload the cargo for you.
To schedule a tree pickup, register with the form below by 1/2/20. Requested donation is $10, payable via Paypal or credit card. Place your tree at the nearest curb or on the front porch on the morning of Jan 4th. If your apt/condo has a designated area, please follow instructions from your building manager. Please note: our pickup area runs from NE/SE 20th to NE/SE 60th Aves; and from NE Glisan south to SE Powell Blvd.
NOTE: We will complete all scheduled pickups between 10am on Sat, Jan 4th and 3pm on Sun, Jan 5th. While we are not able to guarantee a specific day or time window, please reach out via email at sunnysidetreerecycling@gmail.com with any questions.
Thank you for your support!
