The GO Fund is a combined PTSA/SES fiscal effort. Based on the premise that “no child goes unless everyone goes”, the Go Fund was established during the 2011-2012 school year as a new way to ensure fair and equitable access to overnight trips – from the 5th Grade Camp Arnold trip to the 8th Grade Catalina Marine Biology trip.
The school office, with help from Middle School teachers, students and parents, raise money throughout the year to help pay for Go Fund scholarships. The PTSA, through our fundraising, dedicates a budget line to help respond to Go Fund needs. The SES PTSA has ear-marked up to $17,500 towards the Go Fund in the 2016-17 school year. Since establishing the Go Fund, all students, regardless of financial need, have been able to participate in our curriculum-based overnight trips.
