We are going to do things a little differently for the spring musical this year: We will take last year’s musical, “Hip Hop Health,” refine the play, the music and the Hip-Hop, then upgrade it to a touring production. It is our hope to empower Sunnyside students to use their talents and their voices to spread the messages we developed last spring to a wider educational audience.

The Sunnyside productions of the play will be on Friday, May 1 at 7:00pm and then again on Saturday, May 2 at 7:00pm. There will be no Saturday matinee this year. Instead, we will go on tour the following Friday, May 8. That day is a Sunnyside-only half-day, and it will be the perfect time to share our production with other schools and student bodies in the area.

Rehearsals will take place Fridays from 3:15—5:30, beginning Friday, February 13. There will also be an optional rehearsal on Wednesday mornings before school, beginning Wednesday, February 18.
