Sunnyside’s annual Read-A-Thon began February 21 and ran through Monday, March 6. Pledge sheets and reading logs are now due. We will be collecting them through March 14. Pledges will be accepted after this date, but will not be eligible for prizes, so get your pledges in as soon as possible. If you prefer to log your pledge online, visit this page. There are great prizes for the students who read the most units, and for the individuals and classes that raise the most money. (Find the Read-A-Thon rules here.)

The Read-A-Thon has become a primary means to raise money for the PTSA’s general fund, which provides for special programs and allows all students to participate in music, art and school trips.

We have enough volunteers to help us count money on March 16. However, if you would like to be put on the backup list or if you are interested in helping with this event next year, please contact Yomari Cruz at yomaricruz@yahoo.com. We are hoping for more helping hands to learn about how to  run the event in the future!

Thanks again to all the students for their hard work, the teachers for inspiring the students and all the parents for their involvement and help! It was a blast!
