Friday, April 8-Sunday, April 10: SES Westwind Family Camp
For those of you unfamiliar with this longstanding EMS/SES tradition, you are in for a treat, if you choose to attend Westwind’s SES Family Camp. The PTSA coordinates a cooperative family campout at Camp Westwind on the Oregon coast near Lincoln City. All campers pitch in with cooking, cleaning and creating cherished memories.
We are set to camp the weekend of Friday, April 8 to Sunday, April 10. (Friday the 8th is a teacher planning day with no school for students.) Westwind is a 529 acre camp, farm and wilderness area set in the middle of the Cascade Head UN Biosphere Reserve in Oregon owned and operated by the Westwind Stewardship Group. Please see their website for further information.
In order to more equitably accommodate demand, the registration process has changed this year to an initial signup from Wednesday, March 2 through Sunday, March 12. Please sign up here. If there is more interest than space available (145 spots), a lottery will be run on Monday, March 13 and notifications will be emailed that evening to selected campers. Full registration and payment will begin at that point. The cost this year will be $70 per person (except for co-sleeping infants) and includes meals and lodging. We are able to offer a limited number of partial scholarships for families who are unable to pay the full amount. For those on scholarship, the cost will be $25-$65 per person on a sliding scale. In addition, we have a few working scholarships for people willing to take on significant work responsibilities during the weekend. As in the past, refunds will only be granted if we are able to fill your space at camp. Please contact Cindy Ewers at hamiwers@gmail.com, 971-570-1616 or Ryan Manner at jqrm@comcast.net with any questions.
