Wednesday, May 3, 6:30-8:30pm: Parents Talk Racial Equity
Parents Talk Racial Equity (PTRE), led by current/alumni Sunnyside parents, meets monthly to build skills and create a welcoming space for parents to speak openly about the role of race in our and our children’s lives. We envision a parent community that recognizes systemic racism affects each of us differently. We also strive to continually depending our understanding of our racial identity. In so doing, we recognize that we all experience the world in a different way but we all deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.
We invite you to please join us for our next meeting, which is also the last of the year school year. We will be reflecting on our participation this past year and also planning for next academic year. We hope you will join us at Sunnyside Environmental School. Deep appreciation for the space to meet, pizza and beverages, as well as recruiting Middle School students to provide childcare during the meetings, as this support allows us to have productive and valuable meetings.
